About The Show

On a warm summer evening in 2011, two Sandy Oregon wedding vendors were meeting for a cup of (iced) coffee to discuss one of their favorite subjects; WEDDINGS! During the course of their conversation, Donna Cole, owner of Pearl and Roses Wedding Planning and Becky Nerpel, owner of Studio 623 Photography kept circling back to the fact that Sandy is BOOMING with great new vendors, venues, and other additions to the wedding industry. “We need to have a bridal show in Sandy!” the two cried in unison. So the idea to have a bridal show featuring Sandy area wedding vendors was born. As the 2011 wedding season wrapped up, Donna and Becky started working on the logistics. When, where, which vendors to feature and what to name the show. A few meetings later, the help of Charity Chalmers, owner of Chariteas Tea Fare and Gifts in Sandy was enlisted. Originally the hope was to have the show at Chariteas, but as the show grew larger the need for space increased and the show location was finalized at the Boring Grange (although Chariteas remained the location of choice for meetings and planning sessions- yum)!

As the planning progressed, vendors were contacted and added based on proximity to the Mount Hood area and reputation for excellence.  Becky, Donna, and Charity have been hard at work obtaining promotional, gift basket, and swag items for brides attending the show which will showcase about 15  vendors largely from “the Country.” The generosity and willingness of several participating vendors such as Toni DeWeese who designed the logo and flyers, Zoie Koznek who provided hair and makeup for two models during our promo photo shoot, and Knoll Crest Gardens who provided the venue for one of the shoots and also models Charity and Emmily have helped make Sandy’s first Bridal Show a success!
